Abstract

The objective of this study is to evaluate the ergonomic risk and its impact on musculoskeletal disorders related to the handling of heavy loads in workers of the Prefecture of Loja. The methodology used was descriptive. The results revealed a high incidence of musculoskeletal injuries, in the lumbar area, due to ergonomic risks such as inadequate load handling and forced postures. The need to implement preventive and corrective measures to improve occupational safety and health of workers was highlighted, emphasising the importance of training in ergonomics and regulatory compliance.
